We require an energetic, experienced Team Leader to join the Operations team on our Wellington Campus. This role will oversee the service desk, custodian and administration team, and provide support to the Campus Operations Manager.

Students are at the heart of everything we do and their experience begins the moment they enter the campus. Our Operations Services teams take great pride in ensuring our campus is safe, functional and welcoming for students, staff and visitors alike. The purpose of the role is to provide and deliver the University’s outsourced contracts for cleaning, security, parking and waste management, including regular contract meetings with providers. This is a busy role, which also coordinates and delivers a range of operations support services around campus.

You will need to have an eye for detail to maintain and improve standards and demonstrated the ability to link critical services and contracting stakeholders whilst fostering strong relationships to ensure service requests are completed.

To be successful you will have the following:

  • Exceptional people skills to engender successful inter-departmental communication skills
  • Proven experience managing staff, fostering internal and external stakeholder relationships including contract management
  • High level of organisational and prioritising skills and the ability to work with competing deadlines
  • Budget management
  • Experience in a busy, practical, hands-on environment would be beneficial
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and reporting
  • Previous experience in health and safety, security compliance and emergency management preferred but not essential
