Permanent, Full Time, Palmerston North
Are you passionate about working with youth and contributing to a safe community?

Our Youth Justice Residence Te au rere A te Tonga, in Palmerston North provides a safe, secure and supportive environment where rangatahi (young people) who have offended can make changes and get their lives back on track. In addition to maintaining secure facilities, we aim to help rehabilitate young offenders. The reason we do this is because every young person of Aotearoa deserves the chance to lead the best life they can, just like other young people their age. Our Residence team understands that the causes of offending are complex, and that successfully dealing with young offenders, demands action beyond simple punitive measures.

This position oversees a service model which seeks to engage therapeutically with the challenging young people who come into our care. The TLCP leads the delivery of quality assessments and the planning and programming of services within the residence.
Managing a team of Case Leaders, the TLCP provides regular and planned supervision to ensure the behavioural and health needs of young people are met.

To be successful in this position, you must have:

  • Experience in the treatment of at-risk youth with complex behavioural issues
  • Experience in leading a team in a clinical or therapeutic setting (multi-disciplinary setting)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • A practical background in process planning for efficient service delivery
  • The ability to prepare and monitor service delivery performance measures
  • An ability to anticipate and resolve problems making decisions based on risk management analysis
