The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) Te Amorangi Mātauranga Matua is a small Crown agency with a big job to do – to ensure New Zealanders have the skills and the knowledge they need to ensure lifelong success to build a great country. We lead the Government’s relationship with the tertiary education sector in New Zealand and provide career services from education to employment.

We are looking for a Team Leader Planning and Reporting for our Organisational Planning & Performance Team to lead a  dynamic team to produce accountability documents, providing high quality planning and reporting processes and products for our, Leadership team , our Board and Ministers.  You will report to the Manager Organisational Planning & Performance (OP&P), and will need to be willing to provide hands-on delivery of key products on the Planning and Reporting team’s work programme. 

What will you bring to the role?

• Proven demonstrated experience as a Team Leader in a planning and reporting role in the NZ public sector.
• Proven experience with hands-on development and delivery of accountability documents.
• Proven ability to develop and improve planning and performance frameworks and processes.
• Experience and confidence to present and work with senior leadership teams, including the ability to influence and tell the story as required.
• Experience in building relationships at all levels of the organisation, using negotiation and influence to deliver outcomes.
• Proven communication, facilitation and organising skills,
• Proven strategic, conceptual thinking and analytical skills.
