Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the Role

The purpose of this role is to ensure that quality biosecurity and food decisions and interventions are made at NZ’s points of entry. You’ll be leading and motivation a team to ensure management of biosecurity risk. This includes delivery of training, assessment and support and managing and developing performance.

You’ll be expected to be the technical lead and contact for biosecurity, food safety risk assessment and associated processes. You’ll be technically competent in the food regulatory requirements, processes, and warranted under both the Biosecurity Act 1993 and Food Act 2014 and any other relevant Act.

You’ll also produce effective plans, performance measures and reporting frameworks to support the work of IBSS and the wider Ministry. In addition to leading a team you will be contributing to initiatives that support operational excellence in Target Evaluation.

Salary range for this role is $75,000 to $88,000 depending on skills and experience
