Diverse & challenging role; broad range of infrastructure platforms About the role As Tech Area Lead – Service, Operations and Tooling, you will be accountable for the development, implementation, operation and support of all ANZ NZ Technology Operations services in accordance with approved patterns, best-practices to ensure reuse and agility of our service provision. This opportunity will suit a seasoned technology leader who has a proven track record leading both culture and technology platform transformation at enterprise scale. The landscape at ANZ is broad and diverse; multi-geography, and multi-platform. In this role you will have the opportunity to/ be; Accountable for enabling the IT Strategy to deliver the Technology Operations mission and purpose Accountable for delivering 24/7 service/change, monitoring, tooling, scheduling, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Data Centre operations management that enables ANZ Technology as a service delivery model. Accountable for ANZ’s changes to production of applications and infrastructure, and the communication to all key stakeholders of significant changes and impacts to business services, including restoration of service, incident management and problem management processes Accountable for driving improvement in our ability to effectively utilise monitoring and tooling across Technology in NZ. Accountable for enhancing a technology tooling strategy and ensuring that our technology professionals have access to a supported, common tooling capability in NZ. Working side-by-side with business & technology stakeholders and Tech Area Lead(s), you will focus on the IT maturity of the systems supported by your team. Ensure implementation of tools and processes in accordance with global standards for Service Management Ensure our NZ Infrastructure Services are governed and available for customer consumption in a consistent manner and meet agreed service levels Role Location: Wellington or Auckland Role Type: Permanent, Full Time Working Hours: Standard business hours with plenty of flexibility About you This role is a key Technology leadership role and a spring board for those who aspire to a leadership role in one of New Zealand’s largest and most dynamic technology teams. You will have a proven track record of simultaneously managing and delivering industry leading technology service levels as well as development of highly collaborative team based culture. It’s likely you will have lead similar transformation programs previously, lead agile technology solution/software delivery and have depth of practical experience in implementation of modern automated, scalable hybrid cloud compute platforms. To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring: 12+ years Senior Technology Leadership experience gained across multiple technologies. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline. Extensive experience driving efficiency through process and technical automation, and tooling adoption Experience in research and development of new platform services in line with the NZ & ANZ Group IT Strategy and technology developments in the marketplace Extensive experience driving efficiency through process and technical automation Experience driving organisational, cultural and process change Major project management experience including software development team leadership Experience leading teams that consist of multi levels of management, i.e., teams that have scaled and a magnet for talent; passionate about the development of highly collaborative suited to an Agile / Lean / DevOps environment. Demonstrated industry thought leadership and executive presence. Ability to identify new opportunities and effectively communicate complex information succinctly to internal executive management and external partners. The ability to manage vendor technology delivery and demonstrated success in development of both strategic partnerships and commercial value. Strong practical experience with agile delivery methodologies (Scrum and Kanban)
