What you will do
This position is responsible for managing the technical and operational legislative compliance of all Land transport and movements matters for NZDF. This position has dual responsibilities as; the Transport and Movements Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Defence Logistics Command (Land) (DLC (Land)) and a tri-service mandate for Land Transport Authority compliance matters and other related support activities.
As the NZDF (Land) Transport and Movements Subject Matter Expert, you’ll be the bridge between national legislative requirements and the subsequent NZDF interpretation and compliance, in effect defining and ensuring the link between strategic Defence level policy and Tri-service and HQJFNZ operational implementation. This role will also deliver continuous improvement, efficiencies and development of all NZDF (Land) centric Transport and Movements operating systems, processes and procedures.
What we need
Someone experienced in the transport industry with strong knowledge of, and the ability to interpret, current NZ Road Transport Policy and Legislation.
You’ll have a clean and current Full NZ Class 1 Driver’s Licence, ideally with ‘I’ and ‘O’ endorsements and experience as both a Driving Instructor and Driver Testing Officer.

The Defence Logistics Command (DLC) mission is to sustain operational excellence in order to support the NZDF and assist in delivering an Integrated Defence Force by 2025. DLC supports the NZDF by providing logistics (maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO)), most supply chain and warehousing operations (SCWO) and shared services to the single Services and HQ Joint Forces NZ. DLC provides logistics policy and advice internally to the NZDF and externally to NZDF’s stakeholders on an All of Government (AoG) basis. DLC is responsible for multi-national logistics policy and implementation through a series of bi-lateral and multilateral agreements and forums.
