The role 

We are inviting applications for the role of Tutor to teach the New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology).

This is a part-time role (18.75 hours per week) based at our Kaitaia Campus. The role will be fixed-term commencing early February through to mid-December 2021 and will be dependent upon sufficient student enrolment numbers being met.

As a Tutor, you will provide our ākonga with a high-quality level of learning, and be passionate about passing on your knowledge and skills to enable them to succeed in their studies.

Skills, Experience, and Attributes:

  • Relevant Qualification in the field of Administration and Technology or Business at level 5 or above
  • Experience in the field of administration and administration management
  • A background in one of the following areas: Business Management, Computing, or Administration Management
  • Teaching experience and a relevant teaching qualification is preferable or commitment to undertake this
  • Willingness to greet and acknowledge people in Te Reo Māori and pronounces Māori words correctly
  • Minimum knowledge of āhuatanga Māori actively supports cultural activities (e.g. formal/informal welcomes, caring for visitors, ceremonies)
  • The ability to work as a team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • The ability to use initiative and perform duties in a highly professional manner
  • An excellent level of computer literacy
  • A strong understanding of customer service requirements and working in a team
  • The ability to motivate learners to be the best they can be
