Right now we are after a Tutor, Postgraduate Studies to become part of our institutions supporting our vision and values based at our Porirua campus.

About the role -Te Kaupapa

Whitireia is looking for a tutor with specific expertise in primary health, mental health and addictions, and forensic practice, as well as clinical leadership within the health and social service sectors.

The successful applicants will work as part of a team across the following programmes:

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Nursing (Mental Health & Addictions)
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Specialty Care

The successful candidate must possess the following:


  • Appropriate professional qualification and/or registration
  • Relevant tertiary qualification at Master’s Level, or working towards
  • Strong leadership and applied management skills
  • Previous teaching experience


  • Adult teaching qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working within a blended learning environment within the tertiary sector
  • Experience in working with academic staff in an ITP environment
  • Experience in a multicultural environment
  • Experience in dealing with students from various backgrounds
  • Experience with education management information systems
  • Full clean driver’s licence
