The New Zealand Police has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced transcriber to join the File Management and Transcription Services, Reporting to the Supervisor Transcription Services.  The FM&T is part of a nationally centralised group which supports a number of key elements of the case management process, our frontline staff and also provides key services to victims.


This position is shift and working Public Holidays and weekends.


Applicants will have excellent knowledge and use of Microsoft Office software including Word and also need to be able to accurately copy, type, transcribe audio and DVD recordings to a high level of words per minute and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.



Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrates an ability to competently use Microsoft Office
  • Typing speed of at least 80 words per minute
  • Knowledge of Winscribe is an asset
  • Previous experience dealing with sensitive material preferred
  • Excellent command of English language, both written and oral

Special Requirements:
