The role: You’ll be inspecting, depending on your qualifications and experience small (domestic cars) to large vehicles (truck & trailer) to identify faults, assess road worthiness and ensure vehicles are safe on our roads. You’ll issue Warrants/Certificates of Fitness, or for vehicles that fail inspection – document why and explain the reasons for failure to our valued customers.
We will: Train and support you to gain the required New Zealand Transport Authority (Waka Kotahi) Authorities, and in the process you’ll gain more skills and progress your career. Relocation support is available including the 14-day compulsory COVID quarantine accommodation, on a case by case basis. Terms and conditions apply.
To inspect all classes of vehicles you will be:
A Diesel Mechanic with either NZ Trade Certificate, National A-Grade Registration, or NZ Advanced Trade Certificate or equivalent, such as City & Guilds and 3 years relevant workshop experience performing heavy motor vehicle maintenance and repair work.
Have worked in full-time employment carrying out repairs and maintenance to heavy motor vehicles for at least five years continuously within the last six years. A clean motor vehicle and truck drivers’ licence.
To inspect ‘light’ classes of vehicles you will be:
An Automotive Technician with either NZ Trade Certificate, National A-Grade Registration, NZ Advanced Trade Certificate or equivalent, such as City and Guilds and 3 years recent relevant work experience.
Have worked full-time carrying out repairs and maintenance to light motor vehicles for at least five years continuously. A clean motor vehicle driver’s licence.
