Veterinarian (Veterinary Technical Supervisor 2) – Christchurch

The Team Manager Establishments for Christchurch is looking for a Veterinarian (Veterinary Technical Supervisor 2) to join the Christchurch team based in South Pacific Meats, Burnham, Christchurch, SPM135.

 

About the role: Kōrero mō te tūranga

South Pacific Meats, Burnham is situated approximately 30 minutes south of Christchurch. The premises processes adult beef, bobby calves and sheep. There has been considerable investment at the premises over the past few years.

The premises runs a day and night shift and also a 7 day per week processing pattern. The successful candidate will join a team of three full time veterinarians on site and all 3 vets will rotate around all the shifts and all the days. Currently 4×10 on day shifts and 5×8 on night shift.

The role is ideally suited to someone who can work with, and learn from, the experienced veterinarians currently on site. A proven team player is essential. Flexibility is expected as the shift patterns and rota can change depending upon the processing patterns.

 

Skills & Experience: Ngā Pūkenga me ngā Wheako

  • A qualified and registered Veterinarian
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices associated with HACCP, Quality Assurance systems, Risk Management Systems
  • Verbal and written skills, verbal and analytical reasoning skills
  • Integrity and trust, ethics and values, resilience, adaptability and openness
  • Persuading and influencing, team work, planning and organising
  • Computer literacy – can operate standard and customised software to an acceptable standard e.g. word-processing, excel, internet, email, database, secure sites, electronic certification, residues etc
  • An understanding of basic food technology
  • A willingness to embrace the verification services Triple O way of working
