We’re working together with our partners to begin to build an integrated system that gets people the care they really need. About the role Our Event Medics are at the heart of our community work. They cover a variety of sporting events, community fairs, live concerts and more every single week, and also support our front-line crews in emergencies. Event Medics provide the highest possible standard of pre-hospital patient care at community events while adhering to treatment procedures, accurately completing documentation and applying the correct operational procedures. The successful candidates will be able to remain calm under pressure, make decisions in a timely manager, and relate well to all kinds of people. To be considered for this role you must have a: Minimum of a Comprehensive First Aid Certificate (Unit Standards 6400, 6401 and 6402) or equivalent – please note this is not negotiable and is a requirement for the roleFull driver’s License for minimum of 3 years Defensive Driving Certificate received within the last 3 years No criminal convictions, previous or pending Be physically fit for lifting and capable of meeting the demands of the role Have excellent communications skills and be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds Be available for training (training will be on evenings and weekends) – these dates are also not negotiable as they align with the training standards in order for you to complete the course. The non-negotiable dates for this intake are: Assessment evening on Wednesday 16th June from 6pm – 8pm Clinical Induction from Saturday 10th July – Sunday 11th July Resus and assessment from Saturday 24th July – Sunday 25th July Medical module from Saturday 7 August 2021 – Sunday 8 August 2021 Trauma module from Saturday 21 August 2021 – Sunday 22 August 2021 It’s a lot to ask, but caring for our community is an important job.
