NZ Police provide Wellness Services to all Police staff. In this role you would use your assessment and communication skills and mental health knowledge to provide confidential advice, guidance and support, health promotion activities, and work to build emotional resilience in all Police staff. There is no limit to the variety of situations both professional and personal that may present to you. You will need to work from a trauma informed strength based positon and operate with empathy and agility, be able to prioritise and at times work under pressure and. You will certainly Get Better Work Stories, but you won’t be able to tell them to anyone. This position is based at Police National Headquarters in Wellington.

Special Requirements:

  • Professional qualification (Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Mental Health Occupational Therapist)
  • Must have current registration and practicing certificate
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years recent mental health experience


Additional Information:

  • Successful applicant must reside within the Greater Wellington Region
  • Part time, 20 hours per week, salary will be pro-rata 
  • Applicants must be a NZ or Australian citizen, or a Permanent NZ resident apply for this position
