Youth Worker for BLENNZ Homai Campus Residential ServicesBLENNZ is looking for an enthusiastic energetic person to join their residential team as Youth Worker.You will have an understanding of pastoral care practices and a genuine interest in working with adolescents. We are seeking someone with experience with Developmental Orientation and Mobility as well as an understanding of assistive technology as this relates to those who are blind and low vision, those with a lived experience will be considered. Experience and a qualification relevant to working with young people aged 13 to 21 years will be an advantage as will experience in supporting young people who are blind or have low vision.You will also have:The ability to build good relationships with young people while maintaining professional boundariesEnergy, enthusiasm, reliability and be out-going with a level of maturity, skill and interest which can be utilised to engage young peopleA good level of fitness for actively participating in student programmesThe ability to problem solve, show initiative and use common sense when the need arisesThe skills to keep good written documentationDigital competency in a range of software applications, particularly as it relates to those who are blind or low vision.The position also includes some domestic duties.What we offer:Remuneration is based on the Support Staff in School Collective Agreement and will be based on experience and qualifications.
