Cardiothoracic Registrar – Waikato Hospital (Fixed term July2026–January2027)
Applications are invited for the 2026/2027 year for non‑SET Registrar Positions (2yrs+ post‑graduation) at Waikato Hospital. We are seeking doctors who have an interest in pursuing a surgical or critical care career pathway. Candidates who have completed two years post‑graduation hospital experience including a variety of surgical experience will be considered. This is an excellent opportunity to experience cardiothoracic surgery whilst working in a supportive environment.
The Waikato cardiac unit performs over 450 open heart procedures a year with active TAVI, aortic and complex cardiac pathways and around 200 thoracic cases with active thoracoscopy services, including uni and multi‑portal access.
