Responsibilities

• Construction and repair of cabinets and furniture
• Construction of studs and drywall
• Installation of acoustic T-Bar ceilings
• Installation and repair of all types of hardware
• Carry out repairs to floors, corlon and vinyl tiles, etc
• Prepare and lay out own material
• Carry out other carpentry duties as assigned
• Coverage at other campuses as required

Qualifications and Skills

• Secondary school completion and completion of a recognized Trade and Apprenticeship program
• Must have valid Province of Ontario Certificate of Qualification in Carpentry
• Significant recent related experience as a carpenter required, ideally in a hospital/healthcare setting
• Locksmith qualifications and skills are desirable
• Maintenance experience essential
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Blueprint reading an asset
