Job Description
Job Purpose: As a Cashier, you will manage transactions, handle the cash register, and ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Receive payments via cash, check, credit, or debit cards.
- Compute and record transaction totals accurately.
- Identify prices of goods and services and ensure proper billing.
- Issue receipts and provide the correct change to customers.
- Balance the cash drawer daily and report any discrepancies to the Direct Manager.
- Ensure all received money is genuine and non-forged.
- Sort, count, and wrap currency and coins for secure handling.
- Upload transaction information to the POS system.
- Process merchandise returns and exchanges accurately.
- Answer customer inquiries and provide information on payment procedures and policies.
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing questions and resolving concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly checkout area.
