Job Description

The role is responsible for assisting orthopedic surgeons in the treatment of bone and joint injuries. The role involves but is not limited to the application and removal of casts, splints and braces.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Orthopedic Surgeons with orthopedic outpatient procedures as well as inpatients and operating room
• Applies and changes cast and applies various traction devices as directed
• Reports any significant changes in the patient’s condition to a registered nurse-RN immediately
• Responsible for documentation and participation in the use of information technology and relevant electronic medical records
• Facilitates effective communication between the patient, family, and the interdisciplinary health care team as required
