The Senior Pacing Physiologist (Band 6) is an experienced cardiac physiologist responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive pacing service, including the assessment, follow‑up, and optimisation of patients with implanted cardiac rhythm management devices. The post holder works autonomously within their scope of practice, providing expert clinical care while supporting service development, governance, and the training of junior staff.
The role involves close collaboration with cardiology consultants, heart failure teams, catheter lab staff, and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure safe, effective, and patient‑centred care. The post holder is expected to contribute to quality improvement, service innovation, and the maintenance of high clinical standards.
