The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) – Stroke service is employed to advance client and family‑centred care, education and support for people receiving specialist care from the Stroke service at Tauranga and Whakatane Hospitals. This role delivers nurse‑led follow‑up for people via the outpatient service and is responsible for patient education and specialist assessment including monitoring of response to treatment. The CNS for Stroke participates in the advancement of professional knowledge and skills within the specialty using evidence‑based practice.
The CNS role is an important part of the Stroke team. You will work with many clinicians to advance the treatment and outcomes for people who have experienced a stroke or stroke symptoms.
