Our community teams work with an ethnically diverse community, including Māori, Pacific, and Asian communities in urban and rural settings (the North Shore, Rodney District and West Auckland). Mental Health Services for Older Adults (MHSOA) provides community and inpatient services for people experiencing serious mental health issues. We provide assessment, treatment and support to people with severe mental disorders aged 65 or older; people of any age with primary dementia and serious behavioural and/or psychological symptoms; and people with pre‑existing severe mental health disorders who would be better cared for by MHSOA, either because of significant medical co‑morbidities or frailty.
