Role Summary

We are looking to recruit two full‑time consultants to work on Elm Ward and Maple Ward – the two acute admission wards in West Park Hospital, Darlington.

Ward Details

Elm Ward is a female acute ward and Maple Ward is a male acute ward. Each ward is a 20‑bedbeded inpatient unit, commissioned by the Ministry of Defence to house a total of four beds across the two wards.

• Elm Ward – 20 beds (assessment and treatment)
• Maple Ward – 20 beds, also supported by two Consultant Psychiatrists

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide clinical input to approximately 10‑12 patients on both Elm and Maple wards, depending on acuity.
• Work closely with other clinicians in Adult Mental Health, supporting a flexible service that recognises potential for recovery.
