The Product Development Specialist bridges consumer understanding and product creation by leading the development of deep, behavior-based insights that directly inform product innovation. This role focuses on moving beyond traditional research by embedding real-world consumer behavior, usage patterns, and unmet needs into the product development process.
Key Responsibilities
Consumer Insight Generation
- Design and execute ethnographic and behavioral research (home visits, shop-alongs, product diaries, usage journey mapping)
- Identify unmet needs, pain points, and real usage behaviors (not just stated preferences)
- Translate raw observations into clear, actionable insights.
- Work closely with R&D to ensure insight-driven formulation.
- Partner with Marketing, R&D, and Supply Chain teams.
- Ensure insights are translated into actual product decisions.
