Job Description

Topic description

In the context of climate change and increasing anthropogenic

pressures from expanding industrial and agricultural activities, aquatic ecosystems are becoming

increasingly fragile and are being durably impacted. As a result, complex mixtures of

contaminants are now present in the environment and accumulate in aquatic species consumed

by humans. Monitoring programs have been established to protect public health, but they are

generally not designed for multi-contaminant assessment, focusing primarily on regulated and

predefined compounds, and rarely addressing emerging toxins

The core challenge of this PhD is therefore to develop a global approach able to detect a broad

spectrum of contaminants, whether known, emerging, or unregulated. High-resolution mass

spectrometry coupled with gas and liquid chromatography (LC/GC-HRMS) appears as a

promising solution. Two analytical strate...
