Background
The mission of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is to "promote public safety and strengthen domestic security by providing services in partnership with local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies to prevent, investigate, and solve crime while protecting Florida's citizens and visitors.
In support of this mission, FDLE operates and maintains Florida's central repository of criminal justice information for the state's law enforcement and criminal justice agencies, licensing and regulatory agencies, business community, private citizens, and policy makers. This repository is known as Florida's Computerized Criminal History (CCH) system. This work is performed under the authority of section 943.05, Florida Statutes (F.S.) and Chapter 11C, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.).
