Job Title

Post-Doctoral Researcher – Ecological Statistician (fixed term, 2 years, renewable subject to funding). Position starts on 1 September 2026 (or mutually agreed time). Six-month trial period applies at start.

Location

The research groups of Professor Anna-Liisa Laine and Professor Jarno Vanhatalo within the Research Centre for Ecological Change (REC). New hires will be based in Helsinki, Finland.

Position Overview

As an ecological statistician you will design, implement, and improve advanced statistical methods to analyse spatio- temporal biodiversity data. Your work will contribute to two major ERC-funded projects that investigate plant-microbe biodiversity, ecosystem functions, and the impact of global change on ecological communities.
