Job Description
Responsibilities - Responsible for the efficient maintenance, condition and upkeep of all electrical equipment, appliances, and fittings onboard under his charge.
- Keep day-to-day record of all work carried out and in connection with the electrical equipment, machinery, and lighting onboard.
- Plan preventive maintenance of all items of work, submit the same to the Chief Engineer for approval and thereafter carry out repairs and maintenance.
- To ensure safe installation, overhauling, and repair of electrical work, maintain a six-monthly megger reading record of all power and lighting circuits, main and auxiliary machinery, impressed anodes, and individual motors.
- To ensure emergency lighting systems, batteries or emergency generators are maintained in good working condition and available for immediate use.
