The emergency medicine clinical pharmacy specialist will provide pharmaceutical care services to patients within the emergency department (ED) with primarily coverage Parkview Hospital Randallia (PVH) with some additional cross coverage at Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC). This position is aimed at enhancing the multidisciplinary approach to care and optimizing medication therapy for triage and initial care needs for patients. The pharmacist in the ED has a focus on clinical services while overseeing optimal patient admissions and transitions of care. The pharmacist will focus on clinical services through consults (e.g., pharmacokinetics, anticoagulation, antimicrobial dosing), clinical questions, activate responses, and coordination of other medication needs for patients with nurses and providers.
