About the Unit:
The UNC REX Emergency Department is a fast-paced, high-acuity care environment designed to meet the diverse and complex needs of our community. Our 54-bed ED includes an 8-bed non-designated holding area with private rooms specifically designed to support behavioral health patients. We are equipped with two major resuscitation rooms, dedicated triage rooms for rapid initial assessments, a fully functional radiology suite within the department, and a specialized decontamination room.

Patient Population:
Our ED team delivers expert care to a wide range of patients, including those experiencing life-threatening emergencies, acute illnesses, minor injuries, and behavioral health crises.
