Entry Level Histotechnologist

The Department of Pathology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is excited to recruit a full-time (1.0 FTE) entry-level Histotechnologist at the rank of Healthcare Entry Professional. The entry-level histotechnologist will process whole mount prostate, prostate mapping biopsies, and other types of specimens received in the Histology Subspeciality Laboratory. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical - 60%
• Gross description and dissection of whole prostate specimens, prostate mapping biopsy specimens.
• CMOCO only biopsy tissue samples.
• Reprocessing of FFPI tissue samples for Electron Microscopy.
• Paraffin Embedding of large format and biopsy tissue samples.
• Microtomy sectioning of tissue samples.
• Staining and cover slipping of tissue samples.
