About the role

As an Environmental Health Officer, you will administer and implement legislative requirements under key public health legislation, while contributing to proactive and innovative service delivery across the municipality.

You will play an important role in ensuring compliance, managing risks, and promoting health and safety standards across local businesses and the broader community

Other responsibilities include:

Conduct food safety assessments of registered food businesses

Apply relevant legislation including the Food Act 1984, Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008, Environment Protection Act 2017 and Tobacco Act 1987 through inspections, sampling, advisory and enforcement activities

Investigate and respond to complaints from the public and take appropriate remedial action

Undertake enforcement actions including issuing notices to ensure legislative compliance
