**Job Purpose or Objective(s):** The Field Archaeologist supports the Tribal Archaeologist in conducting cultural resource work to ensure Choctaw Nation projects comply with Tribal, federal, and state historic preservation laws, as well as Choctaw cultural ethics.
**Primary Tasks:**
1. Conduct archaeological fieldwork, including shovel testing, geospatial data collection (GPS), and soil profiling.
2. Help prepare cultural resource survey reports that meet federal and state standards.
3. Perform desktop reviews for Choctaw Nation projects and prepare documentation for submission to the Tribal Historic Preservation Officer (THPO).
4. Supervise Archaeological Technicians and Historic Resource Technicians (HRTs) during field and lab work.
