Overview

First Born Theatre (FBT) presents Reading Room : a quarterly event where a new Canadian play meets its actors and its audience for the very first time. No rehearsal. No second takes. You’ll watch as a cast of Toronto actors crack open a script they’ve never seen before and get to know it in real time alongside the play’s first audience.

Qualifications

• Passionate about New Play Development
• Have a draft of a new play that’s never been witnessed by an audience
• Are based in Toronto/GTA
• Prioritize kindness, community, and humour within their practice
• Want to work with new actors and expand their artistic network
• Create “un-traditional” work that is brave and pushes the bounds of theatre (whatever that means to you)

Compensation

Participants will earn a small honorarium for their time.
