We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our busy and dynamic Gastroenterology Ward. You will play a key role in supporting the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals with a range of acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions.

Main duties of the job

Support delivery of safe and effective patient care, including monitoring vital signs and recognising deterioration
Assist with personal care, nutrition, and hydration, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times
Undertake agreed clinical tasks such as ECGs, specimen collection, and documentation
Support patients undergoing investigations and treatments, including endoscopy pathways where appropriate
Escalate concerns promptly to registered staff
Contribute to patient flow, including admissions, transfers, and discharge preparation
