General Description:

The General Maintenance Technician (GMT)/ Helper supports internal and external client needs by performing manual labor in support of Facility Projects. This position is responsible for performing general labor work along with assisting craftsmen in performing their tasks. Laborers must apply sound judgement and understanding when carrying out detailed or uninvolved written and/or oral instructions. Must have the ability to read and interpret safety manuals and warning signs, specifications, rigging diagrams and lifting capacity charts for equipment and load carrying parts. Must display capable oral communication skills and can provide and receive oral safety warnings, instructions, and task assignments.
