The Genetic Counselor III will provide genetic counseling following established genetic counseling practice guidelines in a variety of settings including cancer genetics clinic, prenatal clinic, pediatric clinic, cardiovascular clinic, neurology clinic and other settings as appropriate. Demonstrates knowledge, competency skills and intervention techniques in GC clinical services.
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Responsible for analyzing the intake information and determining if appropriate appointments have been scheduled.
+ Assesses recurrence risks and recommends medical or genetic testing based upon analysis of risk, benefit and cost.
+ Ensures proper completion of counseling paperwork.
+ Interacts and communicates regular with the medical geneticist(s). Responsible for the communication of both normal and abnormal results and coordinating appropriate follow-up with medical geneticist and/or supervising physi...
