Wētā FX is currently taking applications from experienced Hard Surface Modellers to join our team onsite in Wellington or Vancouver on shows delivering this year.

The Models Department is responsible for the creation of digital assets across all shows. Within this, Hard Surface Modellers focus on building vehicles, architecture, props, armour and more. We’re seeking artists with 5+ years experience in VFX production, with the ability to create photo realistic models from 2D reference, previs, photogrammetry and scan data. Artists are also responsible for delivering clean, well‑constructed assets that meet the technical requirements of departments such as Rigging, FX, Layout and Lookdev.

We’re interested in hearing from Hard Surface Modellers who are open to shorter, show‑based contracts. These opportunities are expected to sit in the region of three to six months. While final contract lengths are still to be confirmed, this reflects the current production requiremen...
