Requirements

• MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
• MMed Cardiothoracic surgery or equivalent.
• Proof of registration with the HPCSA as a Specialist Cardiothoracic Surgeon.
• A minimum of 5 years post-specialist clinical experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical governance, multidisciplinary collaboration, and leadership roles.
• Evidence of teaching by supervising at least 3 MMED cardiothoracic registrars to completion.
• Research of at least five publications in accredited peer‑reviewed journals and academic contributions as a presenter or chair at local or international conferences.
• Involvement in curriculum development an added advantage.
