We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Garth, a high‑security Category B male prison located in Leyland. HMP Garth has a capacity of around 792 and houses men serving long‑term and indeterminate sentences. In this crucial role you will work within the Long Term Conditions team, part of the wider planned care and primary care team. We support and train staff in venepuncture, ECGs, wound care and other skills – a passion for delivering exceptional care is required.

Main duties of the job

• Carry out bloods (venepuncture), observations, NHS health checks and clinical assessments for those with long‑term conditions.
• Assist with reception duties – helping new entrants, performing point‑of‑care testing such as blood‑borne virus screening, and clinical observations.
