The Import Purchasing Manager is responsible for defining, managing, and optimizing the company's international purchasing strategy, ensuring product availability, cost control, regulatory compliance, and supply security.
Define and implement the import purchasing strategy. Identify, select, and negotiate with international suppliers. Negotiate commercial terms: prices, delivery times, Incoterms, payment terms. Manage import orders (planning, volumes, quality, compliance). Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers. Ensure compliance with customs, tax regulations, and import standards. Monitor purchasing costs, analyze variances, and propose optimization actions. Manage supplier disputes (quality, delivery times, non-compliance). Work closely with logistics, finance, and sales teams.
