Responsibilities

• Attend to lab request sheets handed in by the teachers
• Clear and clean all apparatus after each experiment and periodically clean up all laboratories and the chemical storeroom and microscope slides
• Check that all electrical equipment, sensors and meters are in working order and monitor maintenance requests for the laboratories
• Perform safety procedures such as checking first aid cabinets, eyewash stations etc
• Purchasing of essential items for experiments e.g. plants
• Monitor and regularly update the chemicals/stock list on the computer
• Maintain lists and contact numbers for suppliers
• Check stock and replenish empty bench reagents
• To assist where possible when a teacher is absent
• Support senior students with their practical work for Extended Essays, Internal Assessments and Group 4 projects.
