Overview
The LPN/RN is responsible for providing direct or indirect nursing care to patients who present with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems; utilizes knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices and ethics; participates in the organization and management of the physicians' practice.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist physician in setting up for procedures and exams, revising daily schedules; locating lab tests and X-ray reports.
2. Assure patient health record is accurate and current.
3. Contact pharmacy to order new and refill prescriptions; notify patients.
4. Notify hospital or skilled nursing facility personnel of physicians orders.
5. Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures; notify patients of test results; schedule follow-up
appointments as appropriate.
6. Triage patients to ensure productive departmental flow.
7. Note abnormal conditions for physician.
