Machine Operator II - Conditioning

Grade 2

1st Shift (M-F, 6:00am-2:30pm)

POSITION SUMMARY

Improves surface condition of rolled products by sanding and/or grinding. Sets up and operates shears and leveling machines used in the production of tantalum and niobium products. Assists as needed in the rolling mills


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES


+ Sands or grinds rolled materials to remove surface imperfections and meet product specifications including but not limited to Class 1 requirements

+ Sets up and operates leveling equipment

+ Sets up and operates shears to ensure final product meets the required dimensional specs

+ Assists as needed in the handling of material at the rolling mills under the direction of the Rolling Mill Operator

+ Requires mechanical aptitude
