Job Summary
The Massage Therapist is responsible for carrying out professional assessments of the joints and soft tissues of the body and to implement treatment programs that reflect the client's physical dysfunction and pain. Treatment includes a broad range of techniques aimed at relieving pain and aid in restoration to normal function of clients with a variety of diagnoses including complex musculoskeletal trauma, amputations, and burns injuries.
Responsibilities
- Complete a case history and assess client to form a clinical impression.
- Based on the assessment and analysis of the findings, select and implement a treatment program to achieve rehabilitation goals.
- Document assessment and therapeutic progress in the patient's medical record within hospital guidelines.
- Complete assessment and progress reports for clients funded through the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and Auto Insurance companies.
