Job Description Job Description Mechanics perform varying levels of repairs and preventive maintenance activities for the fleet. Evaluate, troubleshoot, analyze, and test transit vehicle systems to determine the nature and extent of defects. Assist with repairs and replacement of transmissions, front and rear end assemblies, power steering, braking mechanisms, electronic engine and equipment systems and controls, and hydraulic systems.
Mechanic II will also replace transmissions, front and rear end assemblies, power steering, braking mechanisms, electronic engine and equipment systems and controls, HVAC, airbrakes and hydraulic systems.
Mechanic III will also overhaul heavy equipment systems such as engines, transmissions, front and rear end assemblies, power steering, braking mechanisms, electronic engine and equipment systems and controls, HVAC, airbrakes and hydraulic systems.
