Mental Health and Addictions Nurse
Summary
The Mental Health and Addictions Nurse provides compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges. The RN conducts assessments, develops and implements care plans, administers treatments, and supports recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health and psychosocial assessments.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer and monitor psychotropic and other medications.
- Perform suicide risk assessments and crisis intervention.
- Utilize de-escalation and therapeutic communication techniques.
