About the Role
The Nurse Practitioner role is an expert nurse within Child Health incorporating advanced knowledge and skills. In this role, you will practise both independently and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to promote health, prevent disease and diagnose, assess and manage tamariki’s health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide care to tamariki with a focus on assessing, diagnosing, treating, empowering and supporting patients/tūroro/tangata whai ora and their whānau using evidenced‑based knowledge and skills to achieve optimal health outcomes.
- Focus on complex patient/tūroro/tangata whai ora management to reduce disease progression, enable equity of access, promote wellness, limit disease, and prevent avoidable hospital admissions.
