What the role is: The primary role of a School Counsellor is to work with staff, students, parents, external professionals and community agencies to provide quality school counselling support for students’ mental health and social-emotional development.
What you will be working on: - Provide individual and group counselling to the student population
- Conduct case management with stakeholders (staff, parents and external agencies) to extend support for students
- Support crisis intervention and management of affected students
- Support the counselling team for needs analysis, early identification and referral of students with challenges
- Support staff training on mental health issues and intervention skills
- Support the planning of training programmes and wellness campaigns to raise awareness and understanding of mental health amongst students
