Job Summary
Meet the needs of the Perfusion Department through operation, processing, cleaning, ordering, storing, and testing of supplies and equipment. Provide assistance to Cardiovascular Perfusionist in the operation of the heart-lung machine and other major circulatory support systems.
Responsibilities
• Perform cleaning, sterile assembly, disassembly and correct functioning of the Heart-Lung machine, IABP circuit, Abiomed and CPS devices.
• Assure proper cleaning of contaminated equipment and disposal of hazardous waste. Utilize proper safety precautions and adhere to policies of Personal Protective Equipment.
• Accurately record patient data and demographics onto autotransfusion, IABP and other perfusion records for inclusion in the patient's permanent medical record. Record departmental required data.
