Job Description
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Measure, mark out, and prepare metal plates for fabrication.
- Cut, bend, roll, and shape metal using hand tools and machinery.
- Assemble and fit metal components, tanks, vessels, chutes, hoppers, ducts, and structural steelwork.
- Perform welding, grinding, gouging, and finishing tasks as required.
- Repair damaged metal structures and equipment.
- Conduct inspections to ensure completed work meets quality standards and tolerances.
- Use lifting equipment such as cranes, chain blocks, and hoists safely.
- Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, welders, and other tradespeople.
